This area of outstanding beauty offers a fantastic opportunity for bird watchers with some award winning centres and great RSPB recommendations – and of course the great, uncharted Cotswold Water Park!

Slimbridge Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (20 miles from hotel)
Set in stunning grounds see exotic birds from a multitude of countries. The trust boasts more than 800 acres of wild reserve and is a must for all bird lovers.

Birdland (24 miles from hotel)
Birdland has over 500 birds with the only group of King Penguins in the UK. A great day out for all the family with more than 50 aviaries, open enclosures and even a Desert House. 

Highnam Woods Reserve (30 miles from hotel)
Set in ancient woodland, this nature trail is great year round, but if you are fortunate enough to visit in spring you will hear a symphony of birdsong, especially the nightingales which breed here, also the bluebells and primroses in beautiful bloom. 

Cotswold Falconry & Bird of Prey Centre - seasonal (33 miles from hotel)
This centre has over 150 birds including Eagles, Hawks, Owls, Falcons. The birds can be seen either in the Breeding Aviaries or on the Flying Displays.

Nagshead Reserve (50 miles from hotel)
Looking up with give great views of ravens, buzzards and sparrowhawks. There are Hawk Finches and all three British woodpeckers in the woods all year round and nest boxes housing  Flycatchers, Red Starts and all species of tits.
